Problems Reported With Camaro SS V8 Manual Transmissions
New reports starting to service regarding some manual transmissions in the new Camaro SS powered by V8. People mention that during the a hard launch or launch control, results in a broken output shaft of the transmission, rendering the car undrivable. This is a very major problem, and from what we hear, factory hold has been placed on any new deliveries of Camaro SS V8 with manual transmission, until they complete their problem investigation.
It is a very interesting issue since the Camaro SS uses the Tremec 6060 transmission, which is the same exact one as they put on Dodge Viper, Corvette Z06, as well as some other high performance cars. We believe that this might be a selective case of some bad production batches, but i guess we will have to wait and see the official results from the manufacturer.
